The father of the best player of the 2013 U-17 World Cup at the United Arab Emirate, James Iheanacho has said that his son, Kelechi Iheanacho is not in a hurry to play for the country’s national team.

The Manchester City player who is currently on loan in the United States of America has been identified as the creative player to fill in the gap that the Super Eagles are lacking at the moment.

Kelechi was voted the best player and silver boot winner at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the UAE and was voted Caf’s Africa’s best young player in the same year.

“ For all I know he’s not in a hurry to play for the Super Eagles. If he’s invited he’ll honor the call and will make a difference.”

The 18 year old was linked with a move to English Premiership club Manchester City but has subsequently been re-registered with another club for development football.

Nonetheless, the senior Iheanacho insists his son’s future with the richest English football club is fascinating as he suggests the club is ‘happy’ with him.
