rebel-govsAdamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) plans to seek ex-parte motion from willing judges to remove the G-5 governors – of which he is a member – from office for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor, who made the assertion in a statement issued by his director of press and public affairs, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, in reaction to Thursday’s suit filed by the leadership of PDP before an Abuja High Court which seeks to unseat the governors following their defection to APC, said that from information available to him, the PDP had acquired the services of a willing judge purportedly from the southern part of the country to do the hatchet job.

He, however, declined to disclose the identity of the judge.

“At present, the game plan is to get an ex-parte motion from a willing judge to do the dirty job” Sajoh said.

He added: “We learnt that the party has already secured the services of a willing judge from the southern part of the country who is ready to sell his conscience to do the dirty job for the party

“When the ex-parte motion is granted, the PDP will not grant the governors the opportunity to file an appeal but in their usual impunity, they will use the security forces to remove the governors from their offices by force”, he stressed.

Sajoh added that the ruling party had constituted itself as the major stumbling block to the sustenance of the democratic tenet of the rule of law, as it had since transformed into a lawless institution and a system that does not respect even the slightest modicum of the Nigerian legal system.

This, he said was evident, as it had tried to remove Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from office as vice president, when he defected to the Action Congress (AC) in 2007 to realise his presidential ambition.
