Breaking News: New PDP Has Merged With APC – El-Rufai

The crisis in the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, may have reached a crescendo with the purported merger of the Abubakar Kawu Baraje-led New PDP with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Following weeks of speculation and high-wired political meetings and deliberations between the APC leadership and the group of seven (G-7) aggrieved governors, a chieftain of APC and former FCT Minister, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, took to his Facebook page to announce the merger.

He wrote: “At the residence of the Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso this morning, and after exhaustive deliberations, New PDP has merged with the APC.

“Merger agreement has been signed by the chairmen of the two parties. Await details from Lai Mohammed, the APC National Publicity Secretary” the post read.
