The Osun state Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, says a total of nine persons died in road traffic accidents in the state last month.

The Sector Commander, Mr. Umaru Ibrahim, made this disclosure on Friday in Osogbo, the state capital, while briefing newsmen.

He said a total of 17 road traffic crashes across the state were recorded in which 111 persons were involved, leaving a total of nine persons dead and 53 others injured.

The FRSC boss attributed the accidents in Osun to drivers’ recklessness, overloading as well as excessive speed, adding that the total number of offenders educated by the command was 556.

Ibrahim warned that the FRSC would not spare violators of road traffic rules, noting that the command produced no fewer than 865 driver’s license while rallies embarked upon were 44.
