Annie, who spoke with an online news portal, Ibaka tv, on location of a movie, Girls in the mood, Annie Macaulay Idibia, says if at all there is any challenge, it will be that 24-hours is no more enough for her to take care of her two babies.
Beaming with smiles, she says,
“It has been nice, everything I thought and much more. There are no challenges; the only thing is shuffling my work, my home and my kid. I have so much to attend to; I almost feel like 24 hours is not enough. Now I have work, I have my daughter and I have my husband -my two babies to take care of. I also have my own personal runs. So, it is always very busy, my days are always extremely busy.”
Her husband, Tuface, actually sprung a surprise on her on her birthday. He showed up with cake on location. Obviously surprised by his visit, Annie describes her husband’s surprise visit as cute.
She says, “I was supposed to film half day but eventually filmed till pretty late, at about 9.30pm. I am sure he got tired of waiting. I don’t know how he did it with the director and he got the cake. I was just filming and he walked in and everybody started singing ‘Happy birthday’. It was nice and I thought that was cute. I was surprised that he came; I wasn’t expecting to see him.”
In the movie, she plays the character of a girl named Tessy who is a drug addict. The producer of the movie, Prince Iyke Olisa, says this about her character. “She was a drug addict defiled at the age of 13 by her uncle. The man denied and the wife sent her out of the home. She was introduced, forced into a kind of odd life. She started living wrong and ended up a drug addict and all manner of things.”
The Tessy character however fascinates Annie as she keeps  saying how much she loves the character. According to her, she has never played a role like that and the character is a direct contrast to who she really is.
Annie says, “I play the character called Tessy, I actually really love this character. It is something I have not played before. She is a drug addict; she takes a lot of cocaine, weed, cigarettes, drinks- she is just a very reckless girl. I think what is fascinating about the character is that she is an addict. She is always itchy and when she doesn’t have her fix, she needs to get some. I love the character; it is different from anything that I have played. There was a time she was in jail for about four days and she had had it up to here, she was all itchy and saying she needs her fix. She is a very reckless girl and she is the exact opposite of who I am. I love the fact that I could step out of Annie Macaulay Idibia’s shoes and be somebody else who is totally reckless. I love the character totally.”
She adds that a character she will also love to play is either a blind girl or a hardened criminal.
Annie also states that she has never got advances from marketers or producers.
She says, “I really want to play the role of a blind girl; I want to play a hardened criminal. I have not faced advances from directors or producers. Before when they say it, I don’t get it. I just believe that if you have what it takes, if you have the talent, then eventually you will be called upon. I don’t think there is any field they don’t harass women but if you have it, eventually someone is going to see it and give you a chance. ‘Fear no gree them o’. Nobody tried to hit on me on that level.”
Meanwhile, the couple was spotted last weekend at the MTV Africa All Stars Concert where Tuface flaunted his wedding ring.
“It is official for those who don’t know,” he says, while showing off his  ring.

Probably the hottest news making the rounds right now is the negative reactions by American listeners to the D’Banj, Kanye West remix of D’Banj’s hit track, Scape Goat. Several published reactions severely flailed the song but praised West’s part in it.
Another reaction howeverstated that there was no need to bash the song as it was meant for the African market. The reactions followed the uploading of the song on a popular international music website.
And considering that West is an inter national superstar, the song’s appearance immediately attracted music lovers who were then let down by it.
The current negative reactions notwithstanding, it is still possible that the song might become the favourite of its bashers in future. Songs grow on people most times so most people don’t like some songs until they have listened to them over and over again.

The latest gist making round is that Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has married fellow actress Doris Simeon’s ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan secretly.

According to sources, Daniel Ademinokan and Stella relocated to Abuja a couple of months back in order to strengthen their relationships. U-Will Celebrities' Gossip

As we speak, the two have married each other in a secret wedding that took place outside of the country.

The lovers who now have several business investments together are living a low-key life in the Federal capital territory. Uwillcgossip.com

It all started as a joke when the Nollywood movie producer started a business deal with the single mother of one.

Though they initially denied having an affair, it all came in the open during the launch of their Abuja-based boutique code 55.

A 25-year-old pastor, Tommy Issachar who resides at No 35, Mafoluku Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos was on Monday arraigned before an Oshodi Magistrates' Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a female church member's underwear
and N10,000 cash.

Issachar is facing a two-count charge of breach of public peace and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde told the court that the accused committed the offences on April 12 at Mafoluku, Oshodi.

He said that the accused stole two pants, one bra and a cash sum of N10,000 belonging to Mrs Gift Bassey.

"The accused, a pastor of All Nations Evangelical Church, Oshodi, was invited to a programme at the headquarters of the church, which was the complainant's church.

"The complainant and her husband accommodated him (pastor) in their house for three nights to conduct a special prayer session relating to her
husband's business," he said.

Olatunde said that after the accused had left their house, the complainant discovered that two of her pants, (her only black and white pants), one black
brassier and the sum of N10,000 were missing.

"In the process of finding, it was discovered that the said underwear were taken by the accused without the complainant's consent.

"At first, the accused denied taking those underwears but later confessed that he actually took them. He said that he wanted to use them to pray for her, but denied taking the money," the
prosecutor said.

Olatunde said that after the underwear was recovered from the accused, he had been sending series of threat text messages to the complainant.

"The accused always send her text messages, threatening to eliminate her on or before August ending," he said.

Olatunde said that the offences committed contravened Sections 166 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011. The Section provides
that if convicted of stealing, the accused is liable to three years imprisonment.

Pastor Issachar, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case till May 8 for mention.

A gasoline tanker traveling on narrow road in a residential area in Ibadan caught fire from a local cooking fire place leading to fire explosions that have now gutted 25 houses and 45 shops in Omitowoju area of Ibadan city in Oyo state.

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said they are working to stop the raging inferno before looking into the number of casualty caused by the fire.

Former Abia state governor, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu who clocked 53 on Sunday, has stated his wish for Nigeria even as he decried what he termed "so much tension in the land."
Kalu, who spoke recently at the British House of Commons in the United Kingdom, said: "there is so much tension in the land.We should play politics without bitterness, afterall, government is about service to the people. I want to see General Buhari sweat it out in a friendly squash game with Dr Jonathan. How sweet it would sound to find the First Lady in the Ikoyi home of Senator Tinubu serving herself dinner. That is the kind of atmosphere that, I wish my country."
The ex-governor recalled that in the Second Republic, Chief Obafemi Awolowo accepted national honour from president Shehu Shagari, even as an opposition figure.
"Papa Awo received Shagari's compliments, party politics was set aside. Even Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe did not reject the Mercedes birthday gift the then president sent to the Owelle. They respected Shagari as much as he regarded them," Kalu added.
While urging politicians to be dynamic in their pursuits, Kalu noted that "We could serve in any capacity as long as we have the interest of Nigerians" and went on to cite various examples of politicians who occupied low positions after serving in higher positions of authority."
He recalled that "Shagari was Local government chairman after his tenure as minister. Adeniran Ogunsanya, Maitama Sule were state commissioners after service as Federal ministers. Even Buhari served in the Abacha government, and first Nigerian Inspector-General of Police Loius Edet was a state Commissioner afterwards. That is service. I wish this country peace", Kalu said.

Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Monday warned the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, to stop undermining state laws.

Oshiomhole, at the inauguration of 14 newly elected local government chairmen in Benin, said government had the capacity and the will to contain Igbinedion's excesses.

He also asked the state Independent Electoral Commission to tender unreserved apology to the people of the state for the lapses recorded in the local government election held on Saturday.

He said, "There is evidence that he (Igbinedion) has undermined the prosperity of the state for a very long time. Those who live in glass houses do not throw stones.

"I want to send a warning to Chief Igbinedion that he should take it easy; he has acquired a lot of government land that the people have not engaged him on. He walks as if he is above the law. He was a chief tax collector in this state, pocketing 25 to 30 per cent of every kobo that accrued while his son was the governor.

"I have not looked back because my mandate is to look forward. I want to put him on notice that if he continues with elderly rascality, I will bring him to justice.

"He must never ever underestimate the fact that I have the will and I have the capacity to deploy that will; if he crosses the law, he will be cut to size.#
"Elders must teach the younger ones to behave responsibly.
The governor berated Igbinedion over his alleged conduct on election day on Saturday in Okada.
"You heard how he is using ITV in a very reckless manner, in clear breach of the NBC code. He reduced himself as a high chief, leaving where he is registered to vote and going all the way to Okada on a day movement was restricted across the state.
"He got to Okada and illegally used mobile policemen to walk on the street; going to the police station where sensitive election materials were kept in order to vandalise the sensitive electoral materials to ensure elections did not take place.
"If he misleads himself into believing that he has the birth right to continue to appropriate and privatise the resources of Edo State, he is living in a fool's paradise."

Uncertain of his candidate winning next month's chairmanship election of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday night met with selected governors at the Presidential Villa and appealed to them not to vote for Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

The meeting was said to have become necessary when Jonathan's foot soldier, Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, was unable to convince fellow PDP governors to vote for Gov. Ibrahim Shema for the post.

Akpabio had tried unsuccessfully to persuade a majority of the governors to vote out his fellow South-South governor in place of a Northerner. Most of the governors from the North believe that his action is not out of love for them but to firm up the machinery for Jonathan's 2015 ambition.

The election for the office of the NGF chairman comes up in May, and the incumbent, who is not popular in the President's camp but is loved by his colleagues, is running.

At the Villa's night meeting, in addition to Akpabio, were 14 other governors, including the governors of Bauchi, Gombeand, and Katsina States.

Sources at the meeting said Jonathan begged the governors to rally round Shema and make sure he defeats Amaechi.

"You can do it. Tell your colleagues, especially those from our party that Shema is our sole candidate," the President reportedly urged. Unfortunately, none of the governors gave the President any word of commitment even when Akpabio asked them to speak.

"We have heard Mr. President. There is nothing to say, but we must make sure that the Forum is not seen as an extension of the PDP," one of the governors was said to have told Mr. Jonathan.

The NGF has scheduled a meeting for next Wednesday, but the election is not part of the agenda.

POLYMER notes – the glossy currency notes launched on September 30, 2009 by the late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to mark Nigeria's 49th Independence anniversary – are to be withdrawn from circulation.

The notes were introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) when Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo was the governor. They replaced paper notes.

But Deputy CBN Governor Tunde Lemo has hinted of a plan to stop the printing of small denominations of the naira in polymer notes because they fade quickly.

Lemo spoke yesterday in Washington DC, the United States (U.S.) on the sideline of the ongoing Spring Meeting of the World Bank and the IMF.

A note-printing firm – Securency, partly owned by Reserve Bank of Australia, was contracted in 2006 to produce the polymer notes.

It cost the Federal Government some N750 million.

But, going by what the CBN Deputy Governor said, the production of the paper notes will begin in two months.

Lemo said: "By the middle of the year, we will start to produce the second generation of lower denomination notes, now in paper, not in polymer.
"My plea is that Nigerians should exercise patience with us; it wasn't the fault of the CBN. It was just because we had to go back to the drawing board to rethink `Project Cure' in the light of the wish of the public that we should not go ahead with the N5000 notes and lower denomination.
"We will correct that in the course of the year. Polymer certainly will be phased out. In fact, we are phasing out polymer. No new note is being printed in polymer now.''

Lemo recalled that when the CBN was going to introduce the polymer currencies, its search showed that they could last longer than ordinary paper notes.
His words: "However, with the benefit of hindsight, we probably should not have dumped polymer because, yes, the substrate lasts longer, but the in-consubstrate began to fade; we didn't realise that at the time of introduction.

"So, part of `Project Cure' was actually to move away from polymer substrate to paper. Unfortunately, we had a push-back because of the issues around N5000 note and coins.
"The entire programme was put in abeyance. Otherwise, by now, we should have stopped producing polymer.''
The banker said that the CBN had awarded a contract for the printing of the higher denomination notes to a foreign company because of low capacity at the Nigerian Printing and Minting Company (NPMC).

The CBN will begin to receive the fresh notes from June.
On the campaign on the careful handling of the naira, Lemo said that it was unfortunate that it was not successful, but noted that it is a criminal act to abuse the naira – going by the CBN Act.
He said: "Unfortunately, CBN is not a law enforcement institution; we left that in the hands of the law enforcement institutions and that has not kicked in.

"I still go to parties and see people spraying money; stepping on money; I see touts distributing mint-fresh money that should go to customers.''
According to Lemo, the CBN has urged the police to step up its surveillance to reduce the abuse of the naira. The bank lacks the power to arrest people who hoard the naira to resell at motor parks and on the streets, Lemo said.

Leading figures in the emerging mega-opposition political party, All Progressives Congress, APC, Monday, vowed to make sacrifices to dethrone Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over what they claimed was the legacy of waste and wantonness inspired by PDP.

They spoke even as Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and his Niger State counterpart, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, bickered over the prospects of PDP ruling the country for 60 years.

Governor Aliyu nevertheless agreed that PDP would need to draw lessons from opposition parties for it to propound better policies for the country.

The opposition leaders and Governor Aliyu spoke in Lagos at the launch of a book, Witness to History: Action Congress of Nigeria and the Struggle for Democracy, Liberty and Justice, written by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

We'll give Nigerians real alternative— Buhari
Buhari, who was the special guest of honour, said the opposition parties were ready to give a fresh start to the country.

He said: "Our coming together under the new platform is to provide an alternative platform for Nigerians and find a lasting solution to the problems confronting Nigeria presently.

"If we consummate this merger well, no sensible person will be able to rig elections in 2015 and I must say that on a daily basis, we are being encouraged to move further.

"So I believe strongly that this merger is real and we are going to make sure we give Nigerians real alternative."

Urging Nigerians to join APC, he said it will put an end to electoral malpractices in the country during subsequent elections.

Buhari said: "With this merger, we should mobilise our constituency and I don't think that any political party along the line will attempt to rig because there wouldn't be any need for that.

"Nigerians are very serious about it and we are determined to continue with our plan. I congratulate ACN for the successful conclusion of their convention and in the move to achieve the merger, CPC will be organising its convention on the same day with ANPP."

According to him, CPC's convention would hold in Abuja while that of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, would hold in Gusau, Zamfara.

We'll make sacrifices— Tinubu
Tinubu, who was the chief launcher, said: "This is a Nigerian project, a movement with an agenda for change. We are not unmindful that change never happens easily.

"Hence, we are prepared to make necessary sacrifices and arm ourselves for the battle ahead. We have been the opposition long enough. In fact, I think we should stop using the term 'opposition'.

"We are progressives, not just the opposition. We stand for something and it is for this reason that we oppose those in power. We do not oppose them just for the sake of opposition.

"As the book says, we stand for democracy, liberty and justice. May I add prosperity, health, peace, economic development, tolerance, unity, hope and brotherly love to this list?

"We hate no one and oppose no person. However, we do oppose injustice, poverty, ignorance, indifference, hatred and bad governance.

"We oppose everyone in power whose activities create conditions that allow injustice, corruption, poverty, unemployment and insecurity to thrive. And whether in power or not, we shall always oppose these things.

"Rarely has a government had so much at its disposal yet done so little with it. They have been there too long for the little good they have done. Let them stand aside. We have witnessed their empty history. Let them become witnesses to our full and productive one."

Fashola speaks
Earlier, Governor Babatunde Fashola, who was the chief host, derided PDP for what he described as its arrogant disregard of the wishes of the citizenry.

Affirming that PDP was not prepared to conduct a free and credible election having become used to rigging, Fashola said: "I doubt whether PDP is ready to organise elections come 2015 for them to claim there will be no vacancy in Aso Rock come 2015.

"But I can say with all sense of reality that come 2015, there will be vacancy in the presidential seat of power. What is instructive is that a party is saying that there is no vacancy in the highest office of the land. To what purpose are they organising the forthcoming elections in the country?"

Opposition has a lot to do— Aliyu
Governor Aliyu, who was the chairman of the event, said the prospects of a vacancy in the presidential villa would only depend on how hard the opposition parties work to dislodge PDP.

He said: "We in PDP are saying no vacancy unless the opposition parties work harder and never allow personal interest to becloud its face in the arrangement of a new party called APC.

"PDP is not saying there will not be election but opposition parties, who want to take over the office of the president, must be ready to work hard to get there."

While he denied insinuations that PDP was aiming to sabotage the proposed merger, the Niger State governor threw his weight behind the proposal.

He said: "I was one of the first people to pray for the success of the merger because we don't want to take things for granted in this country. When people come together and realise that they share things in common, it is better they merge.

"The merger will give the electorate in the country options to choose the party that provides their views and suits them."

Governor Aliyu nevertheless agreed that PDP would need to draw some lessons from opposition quarters.

He said: "Nigeria's political elite must realise that nation-building is beyond partisanship. For my ruling party, we need to appreciate the works of others as this will give the opportunity to listen to different views before we make policies for the nation.

"I believe strongly that opposition should not be fought to the ground because they are there to put the ruling party on their toes anytime they are going wrong. Opposition is germane for the survival of any democracy as it helps those in power to see the other side of the coin."

Lai's vote of thanks
In his vote of thanks, Mohammed said he was able to write the book because he was given a platform by Tinubu when he first offered him a position as his chief of staff.

He said: "As spokesman of ACN, I discovered that the media is indispensable and are the true heroes of democracy."

Actress Mercy Johnson who was reportedly in a showdown with her older colleague, Patience Ozokwor on location in Asaba few weeks back, has blamed her uncontrollable outburst on Ozokwor’s repeated utterances referring to her as an ‘ashawo’- a hoochie.
In a telephone interview, Mercy recounted her side of the story to NET. She noted that Patience Ozokwor was given a revealing clothe to wear on that location, apparently to depict a character in the movie that was in the making and Patience allegedly refused the outfit, stating that she is not Mercy Johnson, not an ‘ashawo’.
“I’m not a prostitute. I don’t like the name. I told her I didn’t like it”, Mercy told NET. According to her, the faceoff was escalated when Mama Gee refused to stop calling her by unpleasant name.
There were unconfirmed reports that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) might take a disciplinary action against Mercy Johnson and Patience Ozokwor but when NET contacted the AGN president, Segun Arinze via SMS, he simply stated that the issue has been sorted out in-house.
The text message read “Hello sir, I just want to know if the AGN is taking any disciplinary action against Mercy Johnson and Patience Ozokwor”.
“No it’s sorted out. Thanks”, he replied. Arinze would not comment further.
Arinze, sources said, has instructed both parties not to make any further comments on the matter.

That's curious...because in his January interview with Toolz on Ndani TV, D'banj said he was happily dating a very special lady who has been with him for a while. Fast forward to his interview today with Seun Apara of Thisday, D'banj says he's still single because he hasn't found the right woman.
D'banj tells Seun:

"I have dated a lot of women but I don't really want to talk about them because most of them have moved on and some are married. I don't have any regret at all because I am still young and I am still a bachelor though my mum wants me to settle down. She is proud of me and I do let her understand that it's not that I don't want to marry, I just haven't found the right woman. If she finds the right one for me, she can call me.
