Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, yesterday, presented a budget of N462 billion for the 2015 fiscal year to the state House of Assembly.





The budget which is based on $55 per barrel, fell short of the 2014 budget with N36 billion.

Presenting the appropriation bill before the House in Uyo, Akpabio said the budget was aimed at completing ongoing projects in the state.



He said N253 billion constitutes capital expenditure, while recurrent stands at N209 billion.

The appropriation bill allocated N18.3 billion to education.



Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Mr. Sam Ikon, commended the governor, saying that his administration had implemented the previous budgets to the letter.



He said that despite the fact that the governor had been the most abused and insulted, he has continued to execute projects for the benefit of the people of the state.
