Military authorities in the North-eastern state of Yobe have reviewed the curfew in Damaturu and environs from the initial hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily to 6:00 PM daily.
Spokesperson of the 3 Division Battalion, Damaturu, Captain Eli Lazaru said “the curfew in Yobe state has been reviewed. The curfew is now from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Citizens are expected to abide by the new curfew time”.
Recall that a 24 hour curfew was imposed on the state eight days ago after gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Islamists sect – Boko Haram – attacked the state capital, Damaturu. The curfew was later reviewed to 7: 00 AM to 4:00 PM daily until this latest review.
Normalcy has since been restored to the state.
