14 suspected criminals including prostitutes were Thursday arraigned before a Magajin Gari Sharia Court in Kaduna.


The police prosecutor, Cpl. Bitrus Koji, while arraigning the suspects, told the court that a police patrol team at about midnight, arrested the suspects at Obalende, a “black spot” located on Maiduguri road in the city.


The prosecutor alleged that the suspects had on them hard drugs including Solution, Indian hemp and alcoholic drinks when they were arrested.


He said their alleged offence was contrary to section 405 of the Penal Code Law.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that only three of the suspects pleaded guilty when their pleas were taken, while the 11 others denied the charges against them.


The presiding officer, Khadi Ibrahim Mohammad, granted the suspects bail and adjourned the case till 14 November, 2013, for continuation of hearing.
