Borno State governor Alhaji Kashim Shettima has launched a feeding programme for patients on admission in public hospitals in the state free of charge. The governor also increased the monthly vote for the programme from N5 million to N10 million.
Gov. Shettima said this at the weekend when he visited patients at the Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital where he joined in the eating of food prepared for the patients.
Earlier, the chairperson of the feeding committee, Hajjiya Gambo Dori said they were trying their best to ensure that every patient on admission at any public hospital in Maiduguri were fed despite the increasing number of patients being admitted daily due to the ongoing insurgency.
