President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday solicited for the support of Nigerian youths for the success of the second half of his administration.

The president, represented by Mr Jude Imagwe, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters, made the call at the first Interreligious Youth Conference in Abuja.

“I need youth support to achieve in the second half of my administration as today marks the beginning of the second half of my administration. There is more unity needed now than even the first half,’’ he said.

Jonathan advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by politicians who were opposed to the unity of Nigeria.

“It is sad to note that some Nigerians have played politics with power generation, human lives and even education which is the bed rock of our development.

“This administration has confronted these issues with commitment and objectivity. Even if our power supply is epileptic today, we have moved to the next level in the sector,’’ the president said.

The president urged the youth to demonstrate commitment towards redefining the dreams of the founding fathers.

NAN reports that representatives of Christian youth organisations, Muslims and Ekankar also attended the conference. (NAN)
